Let’s CHATT!

I am excited to be here and looking forward to connecting with my readers and followers! The purpose for this blog is to share what I provide as a counselor to my clients in the therapy room to make it accessible to others, to educate the general public about mental health, and express my passion for advocacy and being an ally for anyone who identifies with a social minority group.

When thinking about a name for my blog I wanted to incorporate the name of my practice to connect the two, but also have it become representative of my values, mission, and purpose as a mental health professional. I live and practice in Chattanooga TN, locals shorten the name though and just call it “Chatt”. As a self-proclaimed “word-nerd” I love double-meanings, homophones, and a good acronym, so that’s how I came up with the phrase, “Let’s CHATT!”, and it serves as an acronym for my professional values, mission and purpose of my practice and blog, to provide a Compassionate, Holistic, Affirming approach to Trauma Therapy (CHATT).

I am new to the field, but as a life-long learner, I am committed to not just educate myself, but to share my knowledge, experience, and skills, with others. This is more than a passion-project or career, this is my contribution to the world.
